What I checked
allthings.how and Roonby both warn that another phone using almost the same technology can sell worse. Roonby describes changing a live model price and gives 399 to 319 as an example. The diagnosis below applies those reports without inventing a continue-selling button, a demand-decay timer, or a guaranteed discount result.
For the correct game and starting resources, see the game overview and reported codes.
Reasons a phone stops moving
- You launched another phone on the same parts. allthings.how and Roonby both call that a repeat and say the new unit sells worse.
- The price is high relative to unit cost. The 70% margin line on the money guide is a target, not proof the market will pay it.
- Critics scored it poorly. The official loop is: launch, read reviews, watch live sales. No source gives a minimum score such as 4.8.
- Bugs were still on the device at launch. Bug fixers are there so you do not ship that way. See the beginner guide.
What to change
- Read the sales panel before you build a second model. If the first is still selling, a clone competes with it.
- Adjust price on the live model. Roonby’s $399 to $319 cut is one reported test, not a required discount.
- Retire the design when a newer parts set exists. The research guide is how those parts unlock. Exact retire UI is not documented.
- Put the next phone on new parts: screen, camera, storage, or the next year’s device type. Layout notes are on best phone.
- Use the free marketing tier to see if the new model has demand before you spend $40,000 or more.

FAQ
Is there a continue-selling button?
No such control is described. You change price, clear bugs, or launch a phone on newer parts.
Does a new color count as a new phone?
Color is one design lever. The repeat penalty the guides describe is about the same technology, not a palette swap. I have not tested a color-only relaunch.
When do I stop a model?
Roonby says to watch sales and retire when you are ready to ship the next parts set. No day-count is published.
